 Bring a friend!  Every letter adds impact!

Now is your chance to weigh in on the Valero Crude-by-Rail Project in Benicia that will bring 70,000 barrels, i.e. 100 tank cars of Bakken crude oil, through Davis daily.  Attend one or more public workshops for help writing a letter commenting on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR).  Written comments are due September 15.

Agenda

1. Updates on oil trains, background on CEQA and EIR process, helpful resource materials.

2. Finding topics and supporting evidence, and sharing drafts for feedback.

Note:  Use the printed DEIR copy at the library (ask at the front desk), or find the DEIR and mailing directions posted at www.beniciaindependent.com   under Project Documents and Project Review.

Other ways to help:

  1. Attend the hearing of the Planning Commission in Benicia on August 14 to voice your concerns. 7pm, Council Chambers, City Hall, 250 East L Street, Benicia.
  2. Make a donation to Benicians for a Safe and Healthy Community at http://safebenicia.org/
